Philadelphia – (Business Wire)
– May 16, 2006 – Canon U.S.A.,
Inc., the nation's market share brand leader in black-and-white
and color laser printer/copier solutions(1), and Ribstone
Systems today announced the availability of a suite of
Ribstone product offerings exclusive to Canon U.S.A. dealers,
including a MEAP version of Ribstone's Bates Labeling
application for MEAP enabled imageRUNNER(R) devices.
"With Ribstone's new offerings
and their imageRUNNER devices, legal print-for-pay vendors
and law firms will be able to rapidly transform boxes
of hard-copy legal documents into digital imaging files
that can be reproduced and easily shared with opposing
counsel as part of the legal discovery process,"
said Shinichi Yoshida, director and general manager, Product
Marketing Division, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A.,
Inc.
The new Ribstone product offerings available
through Canon U.S.A. dealers will include:
-- Ribstone EM-1 Version 1.1 for Canon
MEAP enabled imageRUNNER Devices - Ribstone has developed
this application software which uses Canon's proprietary
Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) for
its Scan To Print product. Ribstone EM-1 Version 1.1 is
an easy-to-use, Bates numbering application for the simultaneous
creation of paginated photo copies for corporate legal
departments and law firms. Using this new offering, operators
are able to scan, Bates number and print files with just
one pass of an original document from an imageRUNNER device.
This offering can be loaded directly onto the imageRUNNER
device, eliminating the need and expense for an external
touch screen monitor.
-- Ribstone Suite - The Ribstone Suite,
a kiosk solution for imageRUNNER and DR Scanner devices,
combines Ribstone's Capture, Scan Express, Image Printer,
Scan To Print and an Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
License into one comprehensive package. This kiosk solution
is designed for those users that require all of the added
functionality of these programs and who also prefer the
larger interface that the separate touch screen provides.
-- Onsite Express - Onsite Express is
a portable scanning solution hosted on a laptop computer
that scans original files to TIFF and MTIFF formats, as
well as graphic or searchable PDFs.
-- Ribstone Systems' Cost Recovery Connectors
for Equitrac and nQueue - Ribstone has developed cost
recovery connectors that automatically report scanning
and printing information directly to Equitrac and nQueue
applications.
The Ribstone offerings will be on display
at the Canon booth (#1624) at the AIIM On Demand Show
in Philadelphia, May 16th - 18th.
